The above picture shows about a half a dozen gouges in the pavement of runway 32 at Yolo County Airport. They were spaced not quite a foot apart and were pretty much just left of the runway centerline.
I was not fined anything by the county for the damage I did to the runway. The airport manager was understanding and said something to the affect that he couldn't tell my marks from all the other ones out there. This was particularly true a few weeks later when a Piper Cherokee hit hard and short and sheared off their landing gear and obliterated the marks I had made. It was a bad month at the Yolo County Airport.
The runway got entirely resurfaced about a year later.
