Well there are probably other ways of doing it than what I did. What I
did was to use a piece of software used to "mirror" a web site. The one I
used is called webmirror. Its a perl based utility. Perl is a general
purpose programming language commonly found on UNIX systems, although it
has been ported to other platforms with various degrees of
success. Getting the webmirror thing to work on something other than a
UNIX (or Linux) system could be tough to do in the days we have left
before the archives are wiped.
If you let me know what archives you want saved, I'd be happy to do
it. Its really not that much work now that I've got things set up. It
takes much more work to clean up the archives like I did with the flybaby
one. If I do get these other archives, I may leave this clean up work to
somebody else.

I don't see why it couldn't be put on a CD. You would have to forward
enough money for me to go out and get a CD-RW, though, as I don't have one
;-) I think the better bet is for me to put it up somewhere for somebody
else with a CD-RW to grab it and make CDs.

Well, you saw how I did it. Don't know if I could recommend this way of
doing it for somebody else who isn't a UNIX/Linux weenie.

Probably. I'll look into seeing what it would take to develop that.

About 3.6 meg, 700K all zipped up.
