Hi Ed

My piece of plywood was 0.08" wider than the belt sander. With h =index.html 0.08 the
bevel was 1/20. I have glued a thin piece of wood under the "bedplate" '(?)
so h = 0.16" with a bevel =1/13. Actually, to change the bevel, you just
have to put a plywood strip larger than the guide under it. The guide must
be maintened by clamps. The belt sander will glide along the guide and on
the plywood strip. Change the bevel with the thickness of the strip. Anyway
for the Fly baby, we just need a 1/12 bevel.

About the bond of the scarf : the surfaces obtained by the belt sander are
perhaps too smooth : as if to glue the hardwood (ash), the bond may be
improved by making grooves in , by scraping with a piece of hacksaw

I live at Jouy sous Thelle , a little village at 60 km in the north of
Paris. My english is really abominable and I hope you will forgive me and
above all understand what I write
