William, I had the same problem with the local spring shops! You mention airplane, and they show you to the door! I also tried a spring from WAG-AERO and had to send it back. So, I purchaced the E4340 from ACSP and bent it to shape using a press and back-up blocks. Also made up the extra leaf spring as suggested on page 9-6 part A in Bowers plans.. HAPPY BUILDING!! Steve
