Fun pictures, Ron.
The doodling I've been doing for the past year or so has gotten me to
something that looks like your 1C with Dave's two-hole fuselage. Added to
that would be a CAM 125 engine, for that long nosed look. Oh, and about 4
convertable options on canopies (hole 1 convered with windscreen on 2,
hole 1 covered with full canopy on 2, windscreen on both holes, full
canopy over both holes). I guess it would look like a mutant Ryan STM and
probably fly like a man-hole cover on edge. An overweight man-hole cover.
I was planning on doing the wing stub thing, but was thinking of making
them about 2 feet long (measured from the fuselage). Putting the gear out
on the ends of that should improve ground handling (not like that is
really needed, though). I was going to put normal (as normal as possible,
anyway) flybaby wings outboard of that. The reason for the normal wings
is so that when I wreck this monstrosity I can salvage the wings and build
a normal flybaby ;-). What are the interface difficulties you mentioned
in your note, Ron. Rigging aileron linkages are the only thing that I can
think of that would be that much of a headache.
